Message of Department Dean

The Department of Anesthetic and Operating Rooms of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences has taken considerable steps toward the recruiting of students and improving the educational level of students from associate degree to BSc and attracting intermittent MSc students in line with the goals determined by the ministry of health, treatment and medical education based on training of specialized human sources in various fields to provide effective and optimal services and improve education. This trend has been accelerated over the past few years by recruiting faculty members and using high-quality educational environments, especially in the area of clinical education. Today, this department is managed with the cooperation of department members in all clinical and internship areas under the supervision of experienced and enthusiastic professors. One of the main strengths of the department is improved implementation of theory courses and fast and safe communication between the department and students and colleagues in clinical units through the website of the department, contents of which are evaluated on a daily basis. Some of the other positive aspects of the Department of Anesthetic and Operating Rooms of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences include:

v  Presence of school of nursing and midwifery of Mashhad with an ancient and equipped laboratory, building of clinical skills to teach general and specialized scientific skills, computer room with an appropriate number of systems for students, having higher education levels (MSc and PhD), which is valuable for educational-research improvement of students and creating motivation for their progress.

v  Located in the center of the city near two educational-treatment centers of Imam Reza and Ghaem

v  Presence of operating rooms equipped with sufficient facilities and rooms for realization of goals of education and skill of students, in a way that implementation of educational courses can be possible with regard to the semester of students.

v  Having equipped and safe dormitories in a good location in the city and proper transportation

v  Presence of recreational-sport centers, such as indoor and equipped swimming pool and sufficient number of sport centers for various fields

v  Studying in a safe and spiritual city due to the presence of the holy shrine of Imam Reza, which has an impact on training and creating positive and spiritual attitudes in students.

Use of these facilities and accommodations can increase our hope to achieve the future goals of the department. Some of the goals of the Department of Anesthetic and Operating Rooms of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences include:

v  Establishment of higher educational levels

v  Compilation of applicable books and references for filling the gap in Farsi sources of these fields

v  Communication with other domestic and foreign universities of the country by providing research opportunities for students and professors

v  Active participation in scientific and research festivals and congresses related to this area

v  Improvement of level of skill and professional association between students by holding workshops and retraining of students and professors

We hope that all of the goals of the department can be achieved in the near future by the efforts of members and students of the department.
